 1850 BEAUTIFUL LACE DETAIL 40" CHRISTENING GOWN This is a really exquisite gown in excellent condition with such tiny pintucking ,finest of handmade laces in pristine shape that do not show up in the pictures as they should . Made of the finest soft batiste cotton . Entire length is 40" , across the chest is 12" ,hem circumference is 56". In this style there are 6 pleats for fullness in the skirt under each arm . Sleeves are 6 1/2" The bodice is just dreamy with the raised embossed type of embroidery , rows of alternating pintucking and rows of embroidery. Fine detailed tiny openwork along each sleeve and neckline with sweetest lace trim . Back of this bodice is just as fantastic with rows of pintucking and embroidery covering it entirely. Closure with 2 tiny pearl buttons and button holes. Lots of hand work in this beauty that has lasted . The front features a French lace insert , hem with 5 rows of fine pintucking ,with a space then 5 more rows of this fine pintucking ending with a ruffle of handmade lace ! This beauty is totally sound in condition and appearance as it has been well looked after and stored to preserve its greatness ! This oldie but goodie is sure to please !  VINTAGE VICTORIAN BELLYBAND SLIP HANDMADE LACE This is a sturdy half slip 35" long made of broadcloth cotton . The waist band fully extended is 24 1/2" and closed overlapping on each side is 17 1/2" adjusts to size. Hem circumference is a generous 59" with the fine pintucking rows and handmade scalloped lace that is out of this world ! Lace is in totally excellent condition . There is one flaw a pin hole found in the back of the slip that does not deter from its beauty . Any wear is a result of having been worn now and then but its construction otherwise is sound and ready to wear again ! VINTAGE VICTORIAN 1900 SCALLOPED HANDWORKED GEORGOUS CHRISTENING GOWN WITH MATCHING SLIP This is an unbelievable georgous set entirely handdone ! This handworked gown from the early 1900's is made of fine cotton batiste and features delicate lace frill and scalloped hemline on both the gown and slip ! It also has a so pretty cutwork pattern throughout the skirt and yoke . The yoke continues to the back with this fine cutwork design where it closes with 4 pearl buttons and buttonholes. This hand cutwork continues 11 " up from the hem . I was amazed to discover that all the scalloped , cutwork lace , seams are all done with love by hand . An art from the past has survived in great condition. Gown measures 27 1/2" in length , 13 1/2" acrosss the chest and has a 56" skirt circumference. The slip measures 25 1/4" in length , buttons at the top with 2 pearl buttons . The neckline , arm holes , and the hem are all hand embroidered in scallops. This on its own is a lovely piece ! Early 1900's Vintage Ayrshire Yoke Christening Gown Ayrshire White Lacework originated in the Scottish Lowlands where it became most popular to dress your little pride and joy in Ayrshire for the great event ! This is a charming piece of work 32" in length , 12" across the chest from underarm to underarm , 42 " in hem circumference. The bodice features 6 rows of white on white embroidered flowers and leaves of Ayrshire and 5 rows of embroidered feather stitching in such a lovely design. A delicate beading effect surrounds the entire bodice from front to back. The entire bodice back is pintucking. Back closing with 1 pearl button and neck ribbon tie that adjusts . It is threaded through the neckline. 1/2" lace around the neck and sleeves. Hem originally plain is now trimmed with a vintage eyelet .
