 VIN 43 ECCLESIASTICAL C.1930 GOWN UNUSUAL VINTAGE DECORATIVE LACE CHRISTENING GOWN Circa 1930 a most attractive white embroidered on net lacework Christening gown the lovely and most eyecatching skirt being decorated with embroidered whitework on an ecclesiastical theme. The decoration to the bodice is somewhat plainer but inkeeping with the decoration on the skirt. A silk satin ribbon adornes the waistline. The bodice of this pretty gown is decorated at the neckline with a thin trimming of lace, the short sleeves having the same lace decoration applied to the edges and are slightly gathered in with a silk ribboned bow. A silk ribboned tie acts as a closure to the neck opening to the back of the bodice followed by three mother of pearl buttons which descend down the opening to the waistline. A cotton underslip has been added at a later stage to the skirt of this gown. Measuring chest....23" length....43" this most attractive gown is in excellent condition, and having been freshly laundered is sparkling white, stain and damage free and ready for use. A most attractive and highly individual, sturdy vintage Christening gown which with the right care and conservation will serve many generations to come. Take notice of the outstanding embroidery !
