Dates from about mid 19th century, 1850's/60's
The gown has a square neckline (round when gathered) with small upstanding Beautiful babies Victorian christening gown lace frill.
It has short sleeves and is decorated with the finest bands of hand embroidered Ayrshire/ Broidery Anglaise and the most tiny pin tucks that resemble ruching. The gown has continuous robing (front frill ) that goes to the back neckline as a ruffle.
Beautiful Valencienne lace adorns the adjustable neckline.
Additional tiny pin tucking plays hide and seek underneath the bodice lace ! What details !
The skirt is finished off with pin tucks and more fantastic handworked laces.

No visible signs of damage, two pinholes at the top back waist hidden with the gathering, one pinhole underneath the front frill .Nice white most wearable condition for a special Angel’s Christening Day !
