VINTAGE SPARKLING AYRSHIRE VICTORIAN BEAUTY OF A CHRISTENING GOWN

This is a fantastic, sturdy, in such fine condition Christening Gown !  Soft lovely cotton with such breathtaking exquisite Ayrshire laces. Valencienne lace around the neckline , short sleeves are frills of beautiful whitework.

This gown has a central panel from the neck to the hemline with amazing embroidered panels of whitework . Designed with some diagonal,others horizontal with the last third having six deep frills. The whole panel has robings of wide whitework frills which continue over the shoulders and across the back of the bodice. All of the inserts and frills have been attached with hand sewn feather stitching. Always a sign of quality good workmanship. Additional hand feather stitching around the neck and waistline.Tiny handstitched pintucking extends from the front across the back hemline.

Closes in the back with two adjustable ties with one original linen covered button. This beauty measures 38" in length with 20" chest. Freshly laundered is sparkling white ready to be worn by a lucky Angel on that special day !
